Going to remembering this one for a long time. B Going to remembering this one for a long time.

Big thanks to @flatwhiterides for capturing awesome photo of me and my bike looking fresh before we got too wet!

Still time to sponsor us! - link in bio!
What…a….day: One of the biggest days and challenge What…a….day: One of the biggest days and challenges on the bike for all the riders (and the amazing support crew @zoe_cgm and Erin!). After leaving our hotel at 4:30am, we met with Chris, Chris and Sam to complete our squad at Edinburgh Children’s Hospital. We left quietly knowing that there would be families inside going through much tougher times than we had planned for the day. This set the scene for one of the most emotional days on the bike ever.

It started raining as we weaved our way through the hilly suburbs of Edinburgh, and it only stopped for brief periods during the whole day! Fortunately, the temperatures were mild so whilst we were wet all day we didn’t freeze.

Then the climbing really began, and whilst gradual, the consistent “up” and at times ferocious cross-headwind had us all pushing hard on the pedals all the way to the top before the long descent into Moffat. Even the descent battled against us, with the heaviest rain of the day meaning we were all riding mostly blind. The relief and joy of seeing Zoe, Erin and a van full of Egg-McMuffins and coffee was palpable!

After some dry jackets or more overshoes installed, we pushed on. We got our heads down and pushed the average speed up as we motored along the flatter roads between Moffat and Penrith. The team was like a well oiled machine, everyone pulling on the front for a few minutes before swinging off and letting a fresh pair of legs take over. Rinse (literally) and repeat till we saw M&S in Penrith, where an amazing lunch was laid on for us out the back of the van! Thankfully, we got a dry spell for lunch which really helped moral.

Another huge boost was that lunchtime was also time we gained another valuable teammate. Darius, Tommy’s Dad was taking the huge challenge of riding 100miles with us. For someone who had done 9 (count ‘em) road bike rides up till this point, he absolutely smashed it. Building in confidence all the way, his finishing such a huge challenge was never in doubt.

The first thing on the menu after lunch was a slow winch up to the highest point on the ride, going over Shap Fell. More biblical rain was waiting for us at the summit…..

And the wind on the way down the

T-4Days: On Saturday, at 4am, while Edinburgh slee T-4Days: On Saturday, at 4am, while Edinburgh sleeps, a team of 10 cyclists (lunatics) will be setting off to ride between Edinburgh and Manchester Children’s Hospitals. We ride to honour all the children currently going through horrific cancer treatment and in the hope that our short time suffering can help some of them by providing more bikes and trikes to help improve both their physical and mental wellbeing. And we ride for Tommy, our hero who showed such courage and spirit in the face of so much and loved riding his bike ❤️

If you can spare the price of a coffee and donut, it would mean so much to@the team, please follow the link in my bio, or click on it on my story highlighting this post.

Thanks so much for your support! ❤️
Swipe to unwrap….amazing service from our friends Swipe to unwrap….amazing service from our friends at @amolaruta , shorts tried in Ernest today and genuinely some of the most comfy I’ve ever worn, thanks for sorting me out ready for next weeks huge day out!
Next week we go again. I’m nervous about this one, Next week we go again. I’m nervous about this one, but Mario and I will be part of a crack squad of 10 who will be hopefully riding from Edinburgh Children’s hospital back to Manchester Children’s Hospital in one day. 360km and lumpy!

We’re putting ourselves into the hurt locker, because children living with cancer suffer every day and don’t get the chance to take a break. We would love to be able to help provide them with more bikes and adapted trikes through @cyclistsfightingcancer . I can’t tell you how much I could use your support to help me get over the hills! If you can spare a few £’s link is in bio….thanks so much! X
It’s taken me a while to post this, I didn’t want It’s taken me a while to post this, I didn’t want it to seem flippant or contrived. But Tommy inspires me so much, and now I am lucky enough to be able to take on a big challenge in Tommy’s name. I can’t even begin to imagine what Tommy’s family are going through, losing their incredible boy, but for a small person he did so much for @cyclistsfightingcancer by being his amazing self, posting when he was riding his bike and in hospital and even staring in our videos.

It’s so unfair that he was taken away so young, cancer is hateful.

So, all I can do is try and help give some more smiles to as many children and as we can. And to do my bit for our fundraising efforts, in a couple of weeks I will be riding with some good friends from Edinburgh Children’s Hospital back here to Manchester Children’s Hospital in solidarity with any child who is going through their cancer journey now, and I will try and be even 10% as brave and as resilient on our 225mile journey in one day as Tommy was for his whole life.

Please see justgiving link in bio if you have even the price of a coffee and can support our challenge this year, it would mean so much to us all. Thanks ❤️X

Ps. My Dad will be sat with Tommy cheering us on too, this one is for you too Dad! ❤️

Something we didn’t suspect we would share as brot Something we didn’t suspect we would share as brother and sister growing up, toys, the odd jumper maybe, and lots of fun times would have been quite enough thanks!

But Cancer came for us both at different times and this World Cancer Day I dedicate to my hard as nails Sister who got through treatment with so much strength and humour throughout despite plenty of really tough moments.

I am so proud of you and knowing how we used to joke that you “aren’t good at hospitals”, makes it even more so.

So now we are both survivors, and today we can thankfully just send our thoughts and stand beside anyone still going through treatment or who has just had a horrible diagnosis. It’s crap, it’s hard, you shouldn’t have to deal with it, but you will find strength you never knew you had, my big sister Steph is proof of that! Xx

What our clients say
  • Having the pro bike fit from Richards is the best thing I’ve done for my cycling, all my issues with comfort, aches and pains vanished straight away.
    David Smith
  • Richard I swear to god I could have kissed you today! I have not been out since my bike fit. Previously I was having serious pain in my left shoulder within 10 miles. Today, despite not been on my bike for weeks I did 43 miles and didn’t feel my usual pain once!! Your a Genius!! Thanks so much. Sally

  • The best cost v’s benefit upgrade I have made to my cycling performance.
    Si DeplitchTeam Chronomaster Rider
  • Before seeing Richard I was on the point of giving up cycling, it was hard and also causing severe lower back pain. What a difference Richard has made! I can now tell the power is going through my legs, I feel strong and much faster (even up hills), my back is no longer hurting and I am enjoying riding again! Thanks so much
    Kathryn Berry
  • The fit by Richard was truly brilliant. While I am a positive amateur by comparison of some of the people Richard fits, I still felt incredibly welcome and got the feeling that I was really benefitting from what was being done. This was in no small part due to the constant explanation Richard gave of each step, the logic behind it and how it would benefit me.
    Matt Cooper
  • The service that Richard provided was exceptional – I really can’t recommend it highly enough. I came away from the session with a lot more understanding on a range of things; including on how my body is ‘set-up’ and what is required to be more efficient in the saddle, but also how to help my back pain, on and off the bike. The advice was really well delivered and Richard clearly has a very deep understanding (even more than my physio who I pay a fortune for!!). It’s fantastic – top marks
    Ben Williams
  • I’d just like to say a big thank from myself and Lauren for your help, after the way she came off in tears the week before the event I honestly thought she wouldn’t be able to take part. It goes with out saying I’ll recommend you to any one in the future. Many thanks Dave

  • ust thought I’d let you know did over 100 miles at the weekend and not felt this good on a bike for years, if you would like to show this email to anyone please do so…… if anyone is thinking of having a bike fit, save your money messing about and just go to Richard, I wasted hundreds of pounds on bike fits over a number of years, but none were anywhere near as good as Richard. He took hours sorting me out both on and off the bike and I got the feeling time was not an issue with him if I were to run over my allotted time.
    Norman FinchExperienced endurance cyclist
  • Having read many positive reviews on internet formus I decided to book in for a Pro Fit. I went last night and from starting with asking questions about sports injury history etc, Richard went on to position my cleats perfectly, alter saddle height, stem length, handlebars, saddle and tilt. Instantly felt completely different on the turbo trainer and pedal strokes feel much smoother and more efficient. Not only that, Richard also took a look at pretty much every screw he could find on my bike and even altered my gearing slightly and tightened up my rear brake….much appreciated! Richard’s service is second to none and I would recommend to anyone.
    Josh TurnerMulti-Day Event Rider
  • I booked a pro fit session with Richard last week and did my first rides since this weekend. The change that Richard has made to my setup is unbelieveable, so much more power available with each pedal stroke and also the ability to travel up hills without so much need to stand up on the pedals. Richard really knows what he is on about and this is really the best money you can spend on you and your bike before considering other kit upgrades. Many thanks.
