X-Man Preparation – Worthy of a BAFTA nomination?
OK, I realise we are a bit late for this years awards ceremony, but in our own minds we have made a masterpiece! We set out to make a video to give you some idea of the hard work and dedication that Tom Wild is putting in to hopefully complete and compete at the first ever Iron Distance Off-Road Triathlon….IN THE WORLD! (Said in the style of Clarkson). Without further ado, here’s our short film:
To give you some more background if you didn’t read my earlier post on the subject, in July 2012, 150 people will try to become founder members of an elite group of endurance athletes, the first real life X-Men, an off-Road, Ironman distance triathlon. 2.4mile swim, a 112mile Mountain Bike Ride, finished off with a trail running marathon.
In taking on this unbelievable challenge, Thomas is riding as part of our team, The Cancer Fighting Cyclists. In doing so he hopes to raise awareness for our charity partner Cyclists Fighting Cancer, that’s what it is all about after all. We would all be out there doing stupid enduro-nonsense anyway, I hear you cry. That’s true, but everyone involved in the team is so passionate about the charity and how much good their work can bring to children all over the UK fighting cancer every day, it really does gives us all a focus and dedication previously unimagined.
Toms challenge is the first epic challenge for the team, so if you can find a few pounds to help him swim, ride and run through the pain, and help the CFC guys deliver more bikes to really needy kids, please head for www.justgiving.com/cancerfightingcyclists or you can even text TCFC99 £amount to 70070
Anyway, we hope you like our video and a glimpse into the world of a future X-Man, if you can post, share, like, blog, retweet, forward, send, link or upload to your friends we would really appreciate it and we know the charity will always be grateful for any extra awareness of their work.
Goodnight.
